Dear Sir/Madam,
On behalf of the European Commission, the European Journalism Centre
invites the environment/science/foreign affairs correspondent from your
media to the Climate Action Conference. Climate Change: The EU
Perspective, an event exclusively for international media, to be held
in Brussels from 25-27 October 2010.
This international event will gather climate change experts from
government, NGOs, media and academia, with keynotes from Connie Hedegaard,
European Commissioner for Climate Action, and other top EU speakers. This
conference will invite 100 EU journalists, including 15 media
representatives from the rest of the world.
The event will address a number of critical themes in the run up to the UN
Climate Change negotiations in Cancún, December 2010. With in-depth
insights into major sectoral topics, including deforestation and the
growing carbon market, the conference will feature debates and panel
discussions between environmental thinkers and policy-makers -- presenting
vivid examples of environmental co-operation.
Participating journalists will be able to report first-hand on European
and international approaches to climate change ahead of Cancún.
All costs related to the event (flight, accommodation) will be covered by
the organisers.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in attending
the conference.
Thank you very much in advance and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Diana
